Total Body Water (TBW) is the sum of Intracellular Water (ICW) and Extracellular Water (ECW) and is
wholly contained within Fat-Free Mass. Normally, about 73% of Fat-Free Mass
is water.
Intracellular Water is the water contained within the cell. Healthy cells maintain their integrity and hold their fluid inside. Extracellular Water is the water found outside of the cell.
