Total Body Water (TBW) is the sum of Intracellular
Water (ICW) and Extracellular Water (ECW)
and is wholly contained within Fat-Free Mass. Normally, about 73%

Intracellular Water is the water contained within the cell. Healthy
cells maintain their integrity and hold their fluid inside. Extracellular
Water is the water found outside of the cell.
